Biophilia's SWG PreCU Scrapbook pwner's Manual

This is an all-encompassing guide to pre-Combat Upgrade (PreCU) Star Wars Galaxies. It was compiled using a Firefox add-on called Firefox Scrapbook which can capture and save web pages and links exactly as they are. So using this tool, I meticulously went through the official forums and captured all the important, useful, and nostalgic PreCU pages I could find, and then organized them into an easy-to-use and accessible scrapbook file. I started this project when SOE announced that they would be deleting the forum archives in late January of 2007. I released version 5 on February 14th and SOE deleted the archives in early March.
ScrapBook is a Firefox extension, which helps you to save Web pages and manage the collection. Key features are lightness, speed, accuracy and multi-language support. Key features are lightness, speed, accuracy and multi-language support. I think if Scrapbook is currently an essential tool for you, you may need to use an earlier version of Firefox. The Extended Support Release of Firefox 52 will be receiving security updates through Spring 2018. There are some differences between a Firefox 55-57 profile and a Firefox 52 profile that may cause some issues with downgrading. Section II - Firefox Users
Download Firefox Scrapbook Here
Scrapbook is a Firefox add-on that can be easily downloaded and installed into your Firefox web browser (use the above link). You can view a Scrapbook file with most browsers but you will need Firefox to be able to modify the scrapbook. The PreCU Scrapbook guide is in a .zip file. Extract it to where you'd like your Firefox Scrapbook directory to be and make sure Firefox Scrapbook is directed there by going totools --> settings --> advanced. The 'Tools' option is located at the top of the Scrapbook frame, which will be on the left side of the screen when you open Scrapbook in a web browser. If you need additional help on how to use Firefox Scrapbook this is the place to go.

Section III - Internet Explorer Users
You can use Internet Explorer (and probably most other browsers) to view the scrapbook but you can not modify it unless you have Firefox. To view the scrapbook go to the main folder that was extracted from the .zip file. Inside there will be a 'tree' folder. Go in there an open up either 'index.html' or 'frame.html' with Internet Explorer. The frame.html file will split the page so you can browse the scrapbook and view pages at the same time.

Section IV - Tips
Section IV - Tips
- If I included links on the page in the capture then I labeled it accordingly (i.e. 'with links' or 'pages #-#') so be sure to check the titles.
- When it wasn't obvious which links were captured on a page then I underlined the captured links with a bright green line.
- Links to image files (.jpg etc.) were automatically captured so don't hesitate to click them.
- Sometimes I made duplicates when a guide had equal relevance to multiple folder categories.
- Scrapbook has a search tool at the top of the left frame. Use it!
- The tree folder that can be used to view the scrapbook with IE is made by going to tools --> output tree as html.
- You can move scrapbook files between different scrapbooks by using the 'Import/Export' option under the 'Tools' menu.
